Our company provides the pressure treatment impregnation of the timber in Muuga Port, on the territory of stevedoring company STIVIS. Pressure treated timber is timber which has been impregnated with TANALITH E wood preservative under controlled conditions in a vacuum pressure timber impregnation plant.
By being impregnated the timber is given a service life many times longer than that of untreated timber, while the additional treatment costs are low, particularly when compared to the generally high costs of maintenance and replacement of untreated timber.
| We are treating the timber by CCA classes A and AB in green/brown colors. The treatment is done by chemical TANALITH E, which is produced by English company Arch Timber Protection. TANALITH E wood preservative is cleared for use under the UK Control of Pesticides regulations 1986 by the Health & Safety Executive. The HSE No. is 4669. |

TANALITH E wood preservative is a waterborne inorganic chemical formulation, which contains copper, chromium and arsenic as the active ingredients. When impregnated into the timber the chemical components become fixed into the wood structure and cannot be removed.
Pressure treated timber will, therefore, have a long service life and long term protection against fungal and insect attack.
Suitable timbers for treatment are all softwoods, commonly used hardwoods and exterior grade plywood.
Treatment is done according to the standards: English H2, H3, H4 and the european standard of the north countries. |
